That is what this book is about. It starts with the most important concepts, defines each concept, gives all the relevant formulas and then explains with examples how to use the formulas. Each section is a self contained lesson. By explaining various complicated things clearly and with consistent notation, I want to show you the links between the concepts. I hope to convince you that math and physics are actually pretty simple.

This is the deal. You give me 350 pages of your attention, and I will teach you everything I know about functions, limits, derivatives, integrals, vectors, forces, acceleration, electricity, magnetism, matrices and light. If you can pass all the chapters in this book then you will be able to pass any university-level exam on this material. All the material from the first year of university science courses in one book. I am serious. You haven't seen a textbook like this before. Instead of reading 140 pages on derivatives, you could read 14 pages on derivatives and learn the same stuff.

And since this is an “about” section, I will say something about me. I have been tutoring math and physics privately for ten years. I started writing this book when I was an undergraduate and I felt that my textbooks were too expensive and generally sucked, so I thought I would write a better one. I went to school at McGill university where I studied Electrical Engineering, Physics and Computer Science – not all at the same time of course.
